We’re delighted to announce that Dr. Patrick Gilbert has joined BioProcess360 as Chief Operating Officer.
Pat brings over a decade of experience in the bioprocessing industry, with deep expertise in downstream purification processes and the design of purification media across both agarose and synthetic platforms. Prior to joining BioProcess360, Pat led the full development and technical delivery of the Purolite Bioprocessing resin platform. He oversaw a highly skilled scientific team and guided the programme from proof of concept through to full-scale commercialisation, resulting in the successful launch of more than 30 products now used globally in clinical trials and commercial manufacturing.
Pat was also instrumental in the development and scale-up of multiple agarose-based Protein A and ion exchange products in a market exceeding $3BN. His experience spans working closely with startups, CMOs, large therapeutic manufacturers, and other industry players to deliver both OEM and custom purification solutions.
In addition to technical leadership, Pat brings practical, hands-on knowledge of Quality, Regulatory, and Supply Chain requirements. His accomplishments include establishing ISO 9001–accredited Quality Management Systems, leading ERP implementation, generating regulatory support files, and designing and commissioning GMP manufacturing facilities exceeding 6,000 sq ft. He was also heavily involved in the M&A activity that led to the $3.7BN acquisition of Purolite by Ecolab (ECL. NYSE) in 2021.
“What excited me most about BioProcess360 is the opportunity to build something agile, bold, and truly customer-focused,” said Pat Gilbert. “I’m looking forward to bringing new solutions to market that help innovators navigate today’s bioprocessing challenges more efficiently.”
“Pat’s a rare combination of scientific depth, operational rigor, and commercial awareness,” said Chris Major, Co-Founder at BioProcess360. “We’re thrilled to have him on board as we enter our next phase of growth.”
Pat holds a PhD in Materials Chemistry from the University of London, with a focus on ion exchange membranes, and a Master of Science in Chemistry.
We welcome Patrick to the team!
